About Dr. Steele
Stephen Steele, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist serving patients in Texarkana, Texas.
Dr. Steele is a native of Texarkana, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his internship and residency there as well. Afterward, Dr. Steele completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he trained with national experts in pancreatitis, liver disease, and advanced endoscopy.
Dr. Steele has authored many publications in medical journals and presented his research at national conferences. His areas of interest include pancreatitis, liver disease, acid reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, and advanced endoscopy. He strives to treat each person holistically by providing comprehensive, high-quality, and compassionate care.
Dr. Steele moved back home to practice in Texarkana to provide knowledgeable and compassionate care to the community he grew up in. He and his wife, Laura, have three boys and one girl. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, coaching his son’s soccer team, attending church and medical missions, spending time outdoors, photography, and cheering for Aggie football.
